I struggle with a lack of confidence from time to time.
Not sure if the title grabs you, but I am sure I'm not the only one who has dealt with confidence issues.
Lately, I have dealt with lack of confidence due to many changes in my life. From almost finishing a degree to job loss to a new job offer to relocating to career woes in general. I've gone through all those emotions within a short timeframe and these events contributed to my growing confidence issues.
In recent years, I have had many moments where my confidence has shown through, especially when it came to either mentoring others or helping someone with a personal problem. Even as I write this, I think back to the times where I was complimented on how well I did something and how I presented myself. My mindset has changed my thinking into believing that I can no longer be confident in what I do or in how I accomplish tasks at hand.
Man, when I was younger, I use to be so much more efficient! As a student in Undergrad, I was ALWAYS doing my absolute best in class and otherwise. I knew that whatever I did, it would come back on me, so, I had to be my best self. That expectation level eventually turned into a certain level of confidence that seemed to stand out in certain crowds. Now, while those expectations are still there, I get feelings of self-doubt and end up going through self-deprecation...heavy! A lot of people don't even notice it until I actually tell them how I feel about something. Most people just know me to be someone who is confident, not the other way around.
God knows that I am capable of being the confident woman he made me be; I, as the human being, get myself caught up in the wrong thought process of it all and lose sight of all the great things in front of me. As long as I am intentional in making the right changes, I will get that confidence I need back! It's there, but she has to be ready to show herself when it's time.
What are some confidence boosters you use to change your life? How do you maintain in today's world if you lack a sense of confidence? Comment below; I am very interested in knowing what you do to maintain your confidence levels!
